Please stay safe and healthy - thank you! Up for sale almost impossible to find M1943 Soviet Army white wool everyday General uniform jacket in small size. Blue back on General-major shoulder boards indicate Air Forces branch of service. This is everyday rare white version. Uniform comes with correct shoulder boards, medals bar and early 11-republics General buttons.

Since the uniform is approximately 75 years old it has all traces of wear and possible moth damage to wool uniforms. This one has moth bites on the back of shoulders (pictured). All uniforms were dry cleaned and treated with moth balls having moth balls smell as a result. IMHO it's a fair trade for moth holes :.

Historical reference: in 1943 all Soviet Army uniforms with collar mounted insignia were phased out in favor of new ones with shoulder boards (similar to used in Russian Imperial Army up to 1917). White version is the least common one. General's boards fancy zigzag lace pattern was copied from the Imperial one. On the buttons 11 ribbons on the State Emblem of the Soviet Union are standing for 11 Republics of the Soviet Union. Originally in 1943 the state emblem had only 11 ribbons (for 11 Republics).

Formally USSR had 16 Republics under its jurisdiction since 1940, but due to WW2 state emblem was not updated until 1947. Then 5 more ribbons were added to the emblem and it stayed like that up to 1956 when Karelia lost its status of independent Republic. Emblem was reduced to 15 ribbons (for 15 Republics) until the end of the Soviet Union in 1991.
